A selfless West Virginia man was found dead after he picked up a stranger while vacationing in South Carolina, his widow has revealed. Josh Wilson, 40, was driving to his hotel room in Myrtle Beach last month with his family when they stopped at a gas station, where a stranger asked him for a ride, The Sun News reported. PARKERSBURG, W.Va. (WTAP) - Starting August 15th, the Memorial Bridge will go from two-way to one-way due to continued traffic violations. Soon drivers will only be able to pass from Parkersburg to Belpre over the Memorial Bridge. No longer will drivers be able to enter the bridge on the Belpre side and pass over to Parkersburg.

CALDWELL, Ohio — The Caldwell Exempted Village Board of Education has a new board member and a new president. Brandon Crock was appointed as the new board member at the board’s regular meeting on Tuesday night. Crock was appointed to replace former board president Chris Estadt. The board accepted Estadt’s resignation at a special meeting on July 21. Allen Schehl was elected board president and Stanley Randolph was elected vice-president.

Portman Announces $1 Million RAISE Grant for Marietta

WASHINGTON, DC – U.S. Senator Rob Portman (R-OH) announced Monday that the U.S. Department of Transportation is awarding Washington County, Ohio, a $1 million federal grant through the FY 2022 Rebuilding American Infrastructure with Sustainability & Equity (RAISE) discretionary grant program. The RAISE grant program provides funding for surface transportation projects of local and regional significance. Previously, this program has been funded at $1 billion per year. Thanks to the bipartisan Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act, which Portman spearheaded and was signed into law last November, annual funding levels have been increased to $1.5 billion. Between the IIJA and the FY 2022 Consolidated Appropriations Act, the RAISE grant program has been funded at $2.25 billion for this year.
