Man suspected in 2 murders kills himself near Cloquet

CLOQUET, Minn. – A man suspected of murdering two other men shot himself to death off a rural road west of Cloquet, after a state trooper stopped him for questioning. Authorities said the man confessed to the murders to a dispatcher while he was being pursued by the trooper early Saturday. A state trooper spotted a vehicle driving away from the scene where two man were found dead.

Two dead in Culver Township homicide

DULUTH, Minn. -- A man killed two people in Culver Township early Saturday morning before killing himself after a police chase. At 1 a.m. Saturday, the St. Louis County Sheriff's Office responded to a request from a father to check on his son who lives in Culver Township, which is about 15 miles northwest of Duluth, the sheriff's office said in a news release Saturday morning.

Suspect in Double Homicide Near Duluth Killed Himself

Duluth, MN (KROC-AM News) - Authorities in northeastern Minnesota are investigating what appears to have been a double homicide followed by a suicide. According to WDIO-TV in Duluth, the St. Louis County Sheriff's Office responded to a 911 call for a welfare check about 1 o'clock Saturday morning at a residence about 20 miles west of Duluth near the town of Brookston. Before deputies arrived at the scene, the father of the adult male who was the focus of the welfare check arrived at the residence and found two men dead at the scene.

Duluth firefighter will face April trial for alleged assault

A Duluth firefighter's trial for allegedly assaulting a woman along a western Duluth trail last summer has been rescheduled for next spring. Conrad John Sunde IV, 50, of Proctor, is now set to face a jury starting April 5 in State District Court. The trial had been set for this coming week, but a continuance was recently granted by Judge Theresa Neo, according to court records.
