On July 27, 2021, the Sacramento Police Department (SPD) released a report compiled by the Center for Policing Equity (CPE). CPE spent the prior year analyzing SPD data covering vehicle stops, pedestrian stops, and uses of force that occurred from 2014 through 2019. The department requested CPE analyze this data to identify any patterns in policing throughout the city.

Alhambra Blvd Site Clean-up: January 7, 2021

On January 7, 2021, officers with the Sacramento Police Department Impact Team were in the area of Alhambra Blvd and W St as part of a multi-day community clean-up and homeless outreach effort. A portion of the encampment in the area was obstructing the sidewalk, bicycle lane, and vehicle traffic, creating a public safety hazard.

Officer-Involved Shooting: April 11, 2020

On April 11, 2020 at approximately 3:38 p.m., the Sacramento Police Department (SPD) was notified by the Marysville Police Department to be on the lookout for a suspect wanted for attempted homicide with a firearm. At approximately 4:38 p.m. that same day, SPD officers located the male adult suspect in a vehicle. Officers attempted to stop the vehicle in the 7400 block of West Stockton Boulevard when the suspect opened the driver’s side door and exchanged gunfire with officers. The suspect was injured as a result.
