Woodland man arrested after traffic stop leads to discovery of illegal drugs

The Woodland Police Department arrested a man after discovering illegal drugs during a traffic stop for expired registration. After police stopped 34-year-old Woodland resident Christopher Cardenas for expired registration early Friday morning, they found found a third of a pound of methamphetamine, ecstasy pills, a “large amount” of cash, a scale and sandwich bags in the vehicle, according to a Facebook post from the Woodland Police Department.

Three-Vehicle Crash on Laguna Boulevard Resulted in Multiple Hospitalizations. An accident during the early hours of June 16 in Elk Grove between three vehicles resulted in multiple injuries. Around 2:00 a.m., officers with the Elk Grove Police Department were called to the accident site on Laguna Boulevard as well as five units with the Cosumnes Fire Department. Four injured parties were hospitalized following the collision, including some of the patients with significant trauma.
