Jefferson City Council Approves Another Facade Rehabilitation Grant Application

The Jefferson City Council met Tuesday night. The Council approved to write-off bad debt from 2008-09 for utilities of $16,902, transferring $173,101 from the equipment revenue-internal sinking fund to the road use fund for reimbursing the purchase of a payloader, and an application for $137,500 from the Facade Rehabilitation program for the ReMax and Midwest Behavioral Services building on the downtown square. They also approved a plat of survey for Landus Cooperative to split off a parcel with the former soy building and keep another part of the parcel for their operations.

Weekend Storms Damage Planes At Lee C Fine

Damage to several planes and more at Lee C Fine airport in Osage Beach over the weekend. Officials say strong storms blew around trees and knocked a few planes on their wings. Photos on social media show one plane on its engine, while the wings are broken on both sides.

Press Release: St. James receives over $2 million for wastewater treatment

Jefferson City, Mo. — The Missouri Department of Natural Resources has awarded nearly $2.4 million in financial assistance to the city of St. James for upgrades to its wastewater treatment system. A Lake-area realtor accused of trying to hire someone to kill her former mother-in-law is ordered to spend 96 hours in the county jail for violating her probation. During a probation violation hearing held on Monday, Leigh Ann Bauman admitted she violated her bond. In addition to jail time which begins August 19, she’ll have to wear an alcohol bracelet monitor.
