Miles to miss Palmyra Season Opener due to disciplinary action

Palmyra High School announced Wednesday Morning that head football coach Kevin Miles will be serving a one-game leave of absence for a failure of locker room supervision. Miles will be sitting out his team's season opener on August 26th against Hallsville. Tyler Krietemeyer will serve as the team's interim head coach and play caller for that contest.

South Jacksonville PD Sells Old Body Cameras to Chapin PD

The Village of South Jacksonville is helping out a neighboring police agency to come into compliance with the state’s mandate for body cameras. The Board of Trustees voted unanimously to sell 6 Watchguard Body Cameras to the Chapin Police Department at the cost of $100 each. The body cameras recently became surplus property of the South Jacksonville Police Department as the department recently switched over to new Axon body cameras and tasers.
