Two women in custody after Layton pickup truck theft

LAYTON, Utah — Two women are in custody Thursday following what Layton police described as the attempted theft of a pickup truck and a trailer with a side by side on it. According to Lt. Travis Lyman of the Layton City Police Department, two women in a red Cadillac pulled up next to the parked truck. One woman jumped out and got in the truck and took off.

Man accused of trying to kill Sandy couple in drug dispute

A Utah man was booked into the Salt Lake County Jail Wednesday after police say he tried to shoot a man and a woman in a Sandy apartment during a dispute over drugs. Four teenagers in custody, accused in armed carjacking

FARMINGTON, Utah — Four teenagers are likely to face a variety of felony charges following an armed carjacking Wednesday night in Farmington. According to Chief Wayne Hansen of the Farmington Police Department, four juvenile males between the ages of 15 and 17, attempted to mug a 17-year-old male from Davis County.

Former Weber CSI employee faces new child sexual abuse charges

FARMINGTON — A former Weber County crime scene investigator already accused of sexually exploiting a minor faces new charges of child sexual abuse. The Davis County Attorney's Office on Wednesday charged Marc Swain, 48, of Ogden, with three first-degree felony counts of aggravated sexual abuse of a child. Swain is accused of touching the girl in her bed during the night. The alleged incidents occurred in 2020, charging documents said.
