Man receives life plus 375 years for murder of Fulton County detective

FULTON COUNTY, Ga. - A man accused of the deadly shooting of a Fulton County Police Department detective in March 2015 received a life sentence. Fulton County Superior Court Judge Jane C. Barwick sentenced 50-year-old Amanuel Menghesha for killing Fulton County Police Department Detective Terence Green and shooting at other officers. He was found guilty of malice murder, aggravated assault on a peace officer, and more than 30 other crimes.

Large sum of cash stolen from Roswell vehicle

ROSWELL, Ga. –– A total of $9,500 in cash was stolen out of a Roswell man’s car while it was parked July 25 at Publix on Rucker Road. The victim told police he had just left Truist Bank, parked his car at Publix and went inside to shop. When he came back to his car, he saw his driver’s door lock had been broken and $9,500 cash was missing from his center console.

One dead in two seperate wrecks involving tractor-trailers in Monroe County

MONROE COUNTY, Ga. (WGXA) - A Cobb County man is dead after a fatal wreck in Monroe County. In a media release, the Monroe County Sheriff's Office says the wreck happened on I-75 northbound near mile marker 191 Friday morning. When deputies arrived, a tractor-trailer was blocking the interstate, forcing them to shut down two lanes. Meanwhile, 911 operators started to get calls regarding another accident, south of where deputies were. The second crash involved three tractor-trailers near the weigh station.

Cops in Georgia Warn of Bus Stop Rapist Who Poses as a Priest

A Georgia man is being sought by police for allegedly posing as a priest to lure women away from bus stops to beat and rape them. Marco Johnson is still out there, and police have asked locals for help in locating him. It’s unclear just how many women police believe Johnson may have assaulted. Police say he has been pulling up at bus stops, purporting to be a priest for Especially For Youth, then offering the women rides home in his black Toyota Camry. Instead, he takes the women to an apartment in Dunwoody. Police have not disclosed how many woman have fallen victim to Johnson.
