First case of Omicron virus variant seen in Illinois

The first case of the Omicron variant of COVID-19 has been confirmed in Illinois. The Illinois Department of Public Health said the variant B.1.1.529 was identified in a Chicago resident and a known contact from another state who visited. The Chicago resident was fully vaccinated and had received a booster dose; he did not require hospitalization.

Sail GP, the multi-event foiling catamaran circuit, will be expanded to 10 events for the 2022/23 season.
