Martinsville grand jury declines to indict suspected restaurant shooter

MARTINSVILLE, Va. – A Martinsville man charged in a deadly restaurant shooting was set free Tuesday after a grand jury declined to return a murder indictment against him. The grand jury returned “not true” bills on three charges against Jamal Jenkins, one of three arrested in a shootout that left two men dead inside the El Norteno restaurant. Keilo Anton Martin, 23, and 33-year-old Shavon Lamont Reid — both of Martinsville — were gunned down in the restaurant’s bar area on the night of February 5. Two others were seriously wounded in the melee.
