Delta variant discovered in Rock Co.

JANESVILLE, Wis. (WMTV) - The more contagious Delta variant of the COVID-19 virus has officially reached Rock Co. Health officials confirmed Friday morning that the strain was detected there, noting that, with this new case, four of the more contagious variants, including Alpha, Beta, and Gamma, have now been found in the county.

Woman loses $6,000 to phony officer

A man posing as a police officer scammed a Janesville woman out of $6,000 last week. A man saying he was “Officer Daniel” from Texas called the woman July 16, gave her a case number and said if she did not follow instructions, someone would arrest her, according to a Janesville police report.
