MADISON, Wis. — Authorities in Rock County say they are continuing to investigate a death they described as “complex” and “violent” earlier this week. Rock County Sheriff’s Office deputies first responded to a home on W. Mineral Point Road in the Town of Center west of Janesville early Monday morning. An elderly woman was found dead in the home’s garage and another person in the home was taken into custody.

Authorities have identified the elderly victim in a “complex violent death investigation” that has resulted in a relative being in custody since Monday. A Janesville man died at a hospital on Monday from injuries sustained in a crash three days earlier, authorities reported. The Rock County Medical Examiner’s Department said Friday that Elliot R. Jaime Jaramillo, 24, died as a result of injuries sustained in the crash June 11 in Janesville, based on preliminary results of a forensic examination at the Dane County Medical Examiner’s Office on Tuesday.
