Elba resident dies after losing control of vehicle in the Town of Byron

BYRON, N.Y. (WIVB) — An Elba resident is dead after losing control of their vehicle Saturday evening after hitting a tree and crashing into a barn in the Town of Byron. The Genesee County Sheriff’s office says around 6:11 p.m. Dustin Nemec was driving his Volkswagen east on Chapell Road and lost control going around a curve and went off the north road shoulder.

Benefit in memory of teen who died in Shortsville fire

SHORTSVILLE, N.Y. (WROC) – A gathering was held Saturday to support a family who lost a loved one in a house fire in June. Around 80 motorcycles and cars showed up, raising $11,000. Fifteen-year-old William Stubinger lost his life as a result of the fire.

Fire at Susan B. Anthony House ruled suspicious

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) – The Rochester Fire Department was called to a fire at the Susan B. Anthony House overnight Sunday. Upon their arrival, firefighters say the porch of the Susan B. Anthony House was on fire. Firefighters began to enter the building and worked to evacuate smoke from the building and protected artifacts from being damaged.

Fire damaged the back porch at the historic Susan B. Anthony house in Rochester early Sunday morning. The fire department was first notified about the fire on 17 Madison St. through a fire alarm that went off just after 1:00 a.m., and then began getting phone calls that there was a fire in the rear of the home.
