Crews working to restore power in Danville

DANVILLE, Va. – Crews in Danville were able to restore service overnight to about 1,000 customers. As of 8:45 a.m. on Sunday, the city has 1,984 customers without power due to the remnants of Hurricane Ian. The largest concentration of outages is in the Golf Club Road and Hunting Hills area, where there about 500 customers without power.

Franklin Turnpike road closure notice

Motorists should expect delays due to utility work on Route 41 in Pittsylvania County. Route 41 (Franklin Turnpike) will be temporarily closed to thru traffic from Route 719 (Golf Course Road) to the intersection of Route 863 (Robertson Road). This section of Route 41 will be closed through Monday, Oct. 3.

N.C. officials file charges against Danville store clerk

A convenience store clerk in Danville and four teens are facing criminal charges after an August car crash in North Carolina. Three Caswell county teenagers were in a car that crashed Aug. 20 near Providence. Troopers said an 18-year-old driver ran off the road and hit a tree.
