The Highway Patrol says the accident took place on Highway 72 in Bunker when a 2018 Kenworth driven by 61-year-old Jimmy Privett of Salem and a Chrysler van driven by 74-year-old Everett Helvey of Bunker were both exiting the same parking lot when the big rig turned into the van, striking it.

De Soto motorcyclist hurt near Ellington after hitting deer in road

A De Soto man was injured late Sunday morning (May 23) while he was riding a motorcycle in Reynolds County. The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported that Joseph Bingenheimer, 54, was riding a 2016 Indian motorcycle east on Hwy. K about two miles east of Ellington at 11:20 a.m. when he hit a deer on the road. The motorcycle overturned, throwing Bingenheimer off.

Ellington man killed in Reynolds County wreck

An Ellington man has died following a wreck Sunday night in Reynolds County. The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports that 65-year-old James Hasty was driving on Highway 106, near Ellington, around 8:30 pm Sunday when his vehicle crossed the center line and hit another vehicle. Hasty was pronounced dead at the scene. No injuries were reported for the driver of the second vehicle. Hasty was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.
