Baltimore Police Arrests 30 Year Old Man on Attempted Murder Charge

On June 14, 2021 at approximately 4:40 p.m., Southern District officers responded to the intersection of 2nd Street and Chesapeake Avenue for a traffic accident. Upon arrival, officers found that the driver of one of the vehicles, a 33 year-old male, was suffering from gunshot wounds to his body. The driver had been shot in the 900 block of E. Patapsco Avenue and was attempting to get to a hospital when he crashed.

Hung Jury Causes Mistrial in Case of Man Charged With Fatal Stabbing in Annapolis

The first degree murder trial in connection with a fatal stabbing that occured in Annapolis last summer has ended in a mistrial. An Anne Arundel County jury was unable to reach an unanimous verdict in the case of Lester Lee Colbert which began on June 15, 2021. Detectives with the Annapolis Police Department arrested Colbert, 42, and charged him with killing Deontrae Matthews nearly a year ago.

21-Year Old Man, Teen From Baltimore Arrested Following Brooklyn Park Drug Seizure

A 21 year old man and a teenager from Baltimore were arrested after police seized marijuana and cash from a vehicle in Brooklyn Park. On June 20, 2021 at approximately 12:45 a.m., officers conducted a traffic stop on a black Nissan Altima in the area of Townsend Avenue near 1st Street. Officers made contact with the driver and information was received which led to a search of the occupants and the vehicle.

Two WOMEN CHARGED IN HAGERSTOWN MOBILE HOME FIRE

Deputy State Fire Marshals have charged two women with arson after connecting them to a mobile home fire last week. Cheryl D. Saunders, 39, and Katherine A. Edwards, 66, were charged with arson after investigators determined both were involved with intentionally setting a mobile home on fire at 16900 Warbler Court in Hagerstown last Tuesday evening. The suspects were identified after multiple witnesses saw the pair at the home and then observed smoke and flames a short time later. The home was unoccupied at the time of the fire and is owned by Saunders's mother.

Police Investigating Single-Victim Shooting Near Lothian

Emergency vehicles are on the scene of a shooting near Lothian. At approximately 5:36pm, units responded to the 800 block of Harwood Road for a reported shooting. Upon arrival, one adult male victim was found suffering from injuries consistent with being shot. That individual was transported by helicopter to the Shock Trauma Hospital in Baltimore.

Severn Home Fire Leaves Family of 7 Displaced, Sends Firefighter to the Hospital

An Anne Arundel County Firefighter was injured while battling a home fire in Severn which has left a family of 7 displaced. Shortly after 4pm on Sunday, June 20, 2021, firefighters responded to multiple 911 calls reporting a residential single-family dwelling fire in the 1900 block of Foxhole Court. Upon arrival, firefighters found a split foyer style home fully engulfed in a fire. The fire had also began spreading to the siding of the home.

Erica Bonora, 39, Identified by Annapolis Police as Woman Found Dead Inside Spa Road Apartment

Officials with the Annapolis Police Department have identified a 39-year old local woman as the victim in a recent homicide. On June 19th at 2:48 p.m., officers responded to an apartment in the 1000 block of Spa Road for a welfare check. Upon arrival, officers located Erica Jeanette Bonora, 39, of Annapolis, inside the residence with signs of trauma to her upper body. She was pronounced dead on the scene.

Woman, 39, Found Dead on Spa Road, Annapolis Police Say

Homicide detectives with the Annapolis Police Department have launched an investigation into the death of a woman found inside a Spa Road apartment. On June 19th at 2:48 p.m., officers responded to the 1000 block of Spa Road for a welfare check. Officers arrived and located a deceased adult female victim inside an apartment with signs of trauma to her upper body. The victim was identified as Erica Bonora, 39, of Annapolis.

Authorities Investigate Plane Crash in Edgewater

Local, state and federal authorities are on the scene of a plane crash in Edgewater, according to the Anne Arundel County Fire Department. Officials say a small single-engine plane occupied by two people left the runway and went through a fence while landing at around 12:35pm on Sunday, June 20. There were no injuries reported and a small fuel leak caused by the crash was contained.

Glen Burnie Man Faces Serious Charges After Officers Find Drugs, Loaded Guns During Search

A man from Glen Burnie is facing serious charges after drugs, cash and multiple loaded weapons were allegedly found by police following a narcotics investigation. On June 10, 2021, Anne Arundel County officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of 100 Archwood Avenue in Glen Burnie on a 2019 Honda Accord. Located on the driver was 42 bags of suspected crack cocaine (18.93 grams). The driver was advised that due to an ongoing investigation, a search warrant would be executed on his residence.

Churchton Man Enters Alford Plea in Semen-Filled Syringe Grocery Store Attack

A man from Churchton has entered an alford plea in connection with a bizarre attack involving a syringe filled with his own semen at an area grocery store. On June 17, 2021, an Anne Arundel County Circuit Court judge accepted the plea made by Thomas Bryon Stemen, 54, to one count of first degree assault and one count of second degree assault. Under an alford plea, a defendant maintains he is innocent but acknowledges prosecutors have enough evidence that he could be found guilty at trial.

Police Recover Pot, Gummies Before Arresting Two People on Telegraph Road in Severn

While conducting a traffic stop in Severn, Anne Arundel County Police seized a significant amount of marijuana and arrested two people. On June 17, 2021 at approximately 1:21 a.m., officers stopped a silver Hyundai Sonata in the area of Telegraph Road and Norcross Lane in Severn. Officers made contact with the driver and information was received resulting in a search of vehicle.

26 year-old Man Arrested for Murder in Baltimore City

On October 27, 2019, at approximately 4:51 p.m., officers were dispatched to the 6100 block of Boston Street to investigate a reported shooting. Officers arrived at the location and observed 30 year-old Kris McCoy suffering from gunshot wounds. A off-duty state police officer in the area heard the gunfire, observed individuals running and notified authorities about the shooting. The off-duty officer rendered aid to the victim until medics arrived.

Glen Burnie Traffic Stop Yields Seizure of Crack-Cocaine, Heroin

Anne Arundel County Police allegedly seized crack-cocaine and heroin from a vehicle while conducting a traffic stop in Glen Burnie. On June 15, 2021 at 10:16 a.m. an officer pulled over a silver Toyota Corolla in the area of Crain Highway and Green Branch Lane. Upon speaking with the driver the officer received Information which led to a search of the vehicle resulting in the recovery of 10.08 grams of suspected CDS crack-cocaine, and 0.56 grams of suspected CDS heroin.
