2 men shot overnight on I-5 while driving to work at Boeing

DES MOINES, Wash. - Two men were shot while driving to work early Tuesday on Interstate 5 in another episode of seemingly random gun violence, officials said. The shooting unfolded around 1 a.m. as the two men were heading north on I-5 near the State Route 516 exit in a GMC Yukon en route to their jobs at Boeing.

Washington State Patrol is investigating a shooting on I-5 early Tuesday near Kent. Trooper Rick Johnson told KIRO Radio that two men were shot around 1 a.m. on Tuesday while driving to work, heading north on I-5 near the State Route 516 exit. Two separate cars fired shots onto the left side of the victim’s car, a black 2005 GMC Yukon.

On Monday evening, one person was hospitalized following a two-vehicle accident involving a Pierce Transit bus and a pickup truck. According to the reports, the bus crashed into someone’s yard. Firefighters immediately responded to the crash scene in the area of South 37th Street and South Thompson Avenue. Officials stated that four people were examined by emergency crews on the scene and one person was transported to the hospital in stable condition.
