Chamber breakfast is Wednesday

HUTCHINSON, Kan. — The Hutchinson/Reno County Chamber of Commerce will host its next monthly breakfast on Wednesday starting at 8 a.m. at the Stringer Fine Arts Center. Nex-Tech Wireless is the sponsor for the breakfast and the program will feature Tricia Purdon, Director - Office of Rural Prosperity at the Kansas Department of Commerce. Click It or Ticket May 22 through June 4

HUTCHINSON, Kan. — Starting May 22nd and continuing through June 4th, drivers can expect an increased law enforcement presence across the state. The Reno County Sheriff's Office and Hutchinson Police Department, along with 160 Law Enforcement Agencies across Kansas, will be specifically enforcing Kansas seatbelt and Child Passenger Safety restraint laws along with other traffic laws as part of the 2022 Click It or Ticket Campaign.

Class of 2022 Fairfield High School students thank their teachers for preparing them

LANGDON – Many of the 14 members of Fairfield High School's graduating class grew up together, attending the same school since kindergarten. After graduation, some will stay close to home, attend Hutchinson Community College or Sterling College. Some will venture a little further to Fort Hays State University. Bull riders use unique talents to support fire victims

MOUNT HOPE, Kan. (KWCH) - A bull-riding event in Mount Hope Saturday night raised money for victims of the Cottonwood Complex Fire that hit Reno County in March. The Fire in the Hills benefit bull-riding event got pretty loud, with spectators cheering on some of the best bull-riders the state has to offer. And all the proceeds are supporting a good cause.

South Hutchinson man gets life in prison for years of teen sexual assault

A South Hutchinson man convicted last month by a Reno County jury of repeatedly sexually molesting a teen girl over several years was sentenced Friday to life in prison. He was the second Reno County man in less than three months to receive a life sentence for sex crimes, though the other case was on a third conviction in less than 10 years for possessing child porn.
