Utah man injured in Redwood County rollover Saturday

A Utah man was injured when his vehicle rolled over in Redwood County Saturday morning. According to the Redwood County Sheriff’s Office, at about 11:12 a.m. on July 30, George Casares, age 54, lost control of his Chevrolet Silverado near the intersection of County Road 2 and Highway 71. The vehicle entered the ditch and rolled onto its roof.

Storms bring strong winds, rain along MN River Valley

(Olivia MN-) People in Renville and Redwood Counties may be waking up to storm damage after strong winds moved through shortly after midnight. 60 mile an hour wind readings were recorded in a band from Marshall and Granite Falls, along the Minnesota River Valley and into the Twin Cities. Thousands of customers lost power. Willmar recorded a tenth of an inch of rain from the system but heavier readings likely occurred to the south. Some parts of the Twin Cities recorded an inch or more of rain.

Minnesota Farmfest starts Tuesday

Minnesota’s Farmfest, a showcase and celebration of agriculture, kicks off this week in Redwood County. Gates open on Tuesday with events that include live demonstrations of operating equipment. At 9:30 a.m., a forum with the candidates for Minnesota’s First Congression District will be held. Linder Farm Network will also hold a show at noon. Visitors can fill up with a free sweet corn feed at 1 p.m. and enjoy live music from Al Lange. A kid’s pedal pull and farm safety demonstrations are also on the agenda.
