Storm Tracker Forecast: More Mild Weather Ahead

The sun will continue to shine this week, however our temperatures will not be as warm for those around the Redding area without the breezes. Tonight, you may want to grab the extra blankets, as we could see lows dropping to the low 30s as we saw this morning across the valley. Without the winds, we could see some places, especially to the south, where fog could pop up in the valley, so if you are out and about on the roads tomorrow morning, heading south, drive carefully. For most of us during the morning, the sun will be out! Make sure to keep the sunglasses handy and possibly a long sleeve shirt if needed as temperatures will be in the low 60s for highs.

Nearly all of the winter-run chinook salmon that hatched in the Sacramento River in 2021 were wiped out over the course of last year. Fisheries managers and scientists say this massive die-off was mainly due to high water temperatures in the Sacramento River, but they also point to vitamin deficiencies as a contributing factor, according to the Redding Record Searchlight.

Storm Tracker Forecast: Winds Calming Down Tonight With A Great Weekend Ahead

Hats were blown around a little today while some people were able to shed the layers as temperatures jumped into the low 70s. The winds will be calming down this evening and into tomorrow morning, but won’t disappear completely. Even under a clear sky, with the light winds, some places such as Redding and the North Valley could see their low temperatures in the low to mid 40s instead of the upper 30s by tomorrow morning.
