Guard, 3 teen Louisiana escapees arrested in Texas

COUSHATTA, La. (CBSDFW.COM/AP) — Three teenagers who escaped from a juvenile detention center in Louisiana, and a worker who allegedly helped them get out, have all been taken into custody in Texas.According to CBS affiliate WWL-TV, the three teens and a security guard from the Ware Youth Center in Red River Parish were arrested early Sunday in Houston.The Red River Parish Sheriff's Office said surveillance video showed the guard, 21-year-old Victoria Tune, driving the three teenagers out of the juvenile detention center. The youths, who included two 17-year-olds and a 15-year-old, were being held on charges including murder and armed robbery.The three and Tune will face charges related to the escape, sheriff's officials said. It wasn't clear Monday whether Tune had an attorney who could speak on her behalf.The incoming day shift at Ware Youth Center noticed the juveniles were missing shortly before 7:00 a.m. Saturday, sheriff's officials said.

Louisiana – On May 13, 2022, Louisiana State Police reported that on Thursday, April 28, 2022, the Red River Parish Sheriff’s Office (RRPSO) requested the LSP Bureau of Investigations Bossier Field Office (LSP/BFO) to investigate an allegation that an on-duty deputy was involved in a hit-and-run crash while driving a marked RRPSO patrol unit. The accident happened on US Highway 71 near the intersection with US Highway 84. Melvin Reliford, 29, of Coushatta, was identified as the deputy.

Former Red River deputy charged in hit and run on duty

COUSHATTA, La. (KTAL/KMSS) – A former Red River Parish deputy has been arrested and police are investigating after a hit and run. Melvin Reliford of Coushatta turned himself in Friday after the Red River Parish Sheriff’s Office asked the Louisiana State Police Bureau of Investigations Bossier Field Office to investigate the crash. Officers say Reliford was driving a marked RRPSO patrol unit on US Hwy 71 at the intersection of US Hwy 71 when the hit and run occurred. A warrant was issued for his arrest.

Juvenile escapees and security guard arrested

Three teenagers and the security guard who helped them escape from a Louisiana juvenile detention center have been captured at a Texas motel, authorities say. According to the Red River Parish Sheriff's Office, the fugitives, who escaped around 3 a.m. Saturday morning, were captured shortly after midnight on Sunday, May 15th. The teens managed to get 256 miles away from the Ware Youth Center in Coushatta, Louisiana, with the help of 21-year old Victoria Tune. Tune was a security guard at WYC.
