One Teen Dead, Two Injured In Red River County Crash

Monday afternoon, a single-vehicle crash killed one teen and injured two others on FM 114 in Red River County, four miles east of Clarksville. State troopers say the vehicle driven by 17-year-old Alexzandra Goodwin of Clarksville for some reason ran off the road and overturned, ejecting 18-year-old Harley Goodwin of Avery. She died of her injuries. They hospitalized Alexzandra and 19-year-old Lindsay Hines of Clarksville.

Fatal Crash Reported Near Clarksville

A fatal crash was reported near Clarksville Monday afternoon. An Avery teen died and two Clarksville teens were hospitalized, according to officials. Alexzandra Goodwin of Clarksville was reportedly driving a Ford Explorer with two passengers east on FM 114 in Red River County, about 4 miles east of Clarksville at 3 p.m. May 9, 2022. The truck ran off the roadway and rolled over, ejecting 18-year-old Harley Goodwin of Avery. The crash remains under investigation, according to Texas Department of Public Safety Highway Patrol Sgt. Gregg Williams.

Red River County Applying For Grant To Fix Leaking Roof

The Red River County Commissioners Court has taken the first steps in applying for a grant from the Texas Historic Courthouse Preservation Program. The 127-year-old courthouse is having significant problems with its leaking roof. They expect repairs to run as high as $1 million.

Former RRAD official pleads guilty to bribery

A former Red River Army Depot official pleaded guilty to bribery Wednesday in federal court in Texarkana. Louis Singleton supervised the government purchase card program at RRAD and was responsible for approving purchases from vendors, according to documents filed in Singleton’s case. In exchange for approvals, Singleton accepted more than $18,000 in bribes including more than 20 tickets and parking passes to AT&T Stadium to watch the Dallas Cowboys play football.
