The volleyball seasons for Enterprise and Kinston both came to a close Wednesday with first-round losses at the AHSAA State Championships in Birmingham. Mr. Harold David Cain, age 90, of Opp, AL died Tuesday, October 26, 2021 in Mizell Memorial Hospital. Funeral services for Mr. Cain will be held at 11:00 am Friday, October 29, 2021 from Wyatt Funeral Home Chapel with burial following in Peaceful Acres Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Gary Miller will be officiating with special music by Kay Bellino. Local man dies from gunshot wound

The Andalusia Police Department is investigating the death of a local man Saturday night, Chief Paul Hudson confirmed. Chief Hudson said the APD was dispatched to the Mock Street area at about 10:30 p.m. after gunshots were reported. When officers arrived, they found Domonique Terrell Curry, 32, of Andalusia, unresponsive in the roadway of the 400 block of Mock Street. Advanced EMS transported Curry to Andalusia Health, where it was determined he had suffered at least one gunshot wound. He later succumbed to the injuries.

Mr. Edward Lamont Davis, age 65, of Century, Fla., passed away Sunday,. October 24, 2021. He was born in Biloxi, Miss. to Walter Levon and Mary Anne Pruett Davis. Mr. Davis is survived by his wife, Rosa Ramirez Davis, his sons, Edward Lamont “Eddie” Davis of Perdido, Ala., Scott (Tabitha) Davis of Poarch, Ala., Andrew (Marsha) Davis of McCullough, Ala. and Jeremy Davis of Bay Minette, Al. and his sisters, Eula (Steve) Jones of Orange Beach, Ala. and Nancy (Miguel) Espino of Kansas City, MO.

Veterans Day parade planned for Andalusia

The Veterans Parade is returning to Andalusia on Thursday, Nov. 11, at 9 a.m. this year. “The Chamber is excited to bring back the parade this year. I personally have many family members who are veterans. Honoring them is very near and dear to my heart,” Andalusia Area Chamber Executive Director Laura Wells said.
