As we enjoy these beautiful late days of summer, it’s time to plan for college classes this fall. The pandemic years have shifted traditional college-going patterns as we once knew them. New high school graduates may have delayed college plans to take advantage of work opportunities, especially as employers were boosting starting wages in a tight job market. Working adults may have stopped out of college to balance work while caring for young children as their schools shifted between in-person and remote learning. Whatever reason might have kept you from going to college, I encourage you to consider coming back.

The southbound I-25 on ramp at Exit 11 will be fully closed August 8 to 12

August 2, 2022 - Southeastern Colorado - Traffic will be detoured north to Exit 13B in Trinidad to access southbound I-25 Las Animas County – The Colorado Department of Transportation will implement a full closure of the Exit 11 on-ramp to southbound Interstate 25 from Monday, August 8 to Friday, August 12. The closure will be in place 24/7. During this closure, traffic will be detoured northbound on I-25 to Exit 13B Main Street in Trinidad to access southbound I-25. The ramp closure is necessary while crews connect the newly constructed elements at the southwest side of the Exit 11 interchange to the new on-ramp and County Road 69.1. After the full closure, the new west roundabout will open to traffic.

Betty was a devoted mother and loving grandmother. She worked for many years in home health care where she cared for anyone in need.
