Raleigh, N.C. — The final WRAL College Football Power Rankings are here and NC State has moved up four spots to number one after their win over UNC this past Friday. A good portion of these teams in the top 10 will still have games left in the season between a conference championship, bowl games or the FCS Championship Tournament.
Rocky Mount High School’s varsity girls basketball team improved to 2-0 on the season with a 61-48 nonconference victory over Millbrook on Friday in Raleigh. Caroline Thiel had 22 points and 10 rebounds for the Gryphons while Dee Graham also had 22 points. McKinley Battle added five points, nine rebounds and three steals; Sheliyia Williams provided five points. Rocky Mount was 22 of 58 from the field (58 percent) and 14 of 26 from the foul line (54 percent). Millbrook, which was held to 24 percent from the floor (16 of 67), was led by Raychel Douglas with 22 points and 12 rebounds. Sanai Cole chipped in 13 points, Ivory Galloway managed seven points and Robyn Cole grabbed eight rebounds. The Wildcats were 16 of 34 (47 percent) from the free throw line.
At almost a third of the way through the 2022-23 regular season, the NC State women’s basketball team has only lost one game, boasting a 6-1 record. The Pack has yet to play any ACC teams, but the upcoming ACC/B1G Challenge will give NC State a chance to prove itself as a legitimate team in the ACC.

Chapel Hill, NC – The NC State Wolfpack won a thriller in their rivalry game against North Carolina, beating the Tar Heels 30-27 in double overtime. Wolfpack quarterback Ben Finely completed 27 of 40 passes for 271 yards and 2 touchdowns to lead NC State to the win. Devin Carter led the receivers with 130 yards and a touchdown. Ten different Wolfpack receivers caught passes in the game. Tar Heels quarterback Drake Maye threw for 233 yards and a touchdown, but also threw an INT in the loss.
