After Hurricane Ida knocked the community to the ground, Tim McNabb is trying to help pick it back up. The Rotary of Downtown Houma past president mobilized a team of Rotarians from other clubs and parishes and volunteers to distribute food, water, ice and cleaning supplies to Terrebonne and Lafourche. A north Lafourche fairground known to host festivals, music and community events, has become a part of an unauthorized camp for crews of linemen under contract with Entergy. Both the Chackbay Volunteer Fire Department and Entergy issued releases about the situation.
