Twin Cities Motorcyclist Killed in Crash Near Mall of America

Richfield, MN (KROC-AM News)- A motorcyclist in the Twin Cities was killed after crashing near the Mall of America Wednesday afternoon. The Minnesota State Patrol says the 42-year-old Shakopee man was traveling west on Interstate 494 when traffic slowed near Hwy. 77. Troopers say the man lost control of the motorcycle and came to rest in the traffic lanes.

Mankato, MN (KROC-AM News) - A Hutchinson woman has been sentenced to five years in prison for the drug overdose death of a Mankato man last year. 23-year-old Alyssa Miller earlier entered into a plea agreement with prosecutors in Blue Earth County and admitted to a third-degree murder charge in connection with the death of 23-year-old Marcus Krogh.

Minnesota Experienced Big Jump in New Syphilis Cases Last Year

St. Paul, MN (KROC-AM News) - State health officials say an annual report on sexually transmitted diseases shows a concerning increase in syphilis cases in Minnesota. The report issued today by the Minnesota Department of Health shows the state experienced a 33-percent increase in syphilis cases last year. The total was 1457 cases, including 15 congenital syphilis cases involving infants.
