PUTNAM COUNTY, Ind. – A man from Crawfordsville was flown to a hospital in Indianapolis after crashing a dump truck in Putnam County Tuesday morning. Indiana State Police say the crash happened around 8:30 a.m. on U.S. 40 near County Road 475 East, which is in the southeastern portion of the county.

PUTNAM COUNTY, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Update: As of 1:57 p.m. all lanes have been re-opened on I-70 Eastbound. According to Indiana State Police Sgt. Matt Ames, the crash occurred at approximately 12:25 p.m. near mile marker 42 of I-70 eastbound. The incident included two passenger vehicles and a semi truck. Ames says the driver of the semi failed to observe that traffic had slowed in front of him, causing the truck to rear-end a passenger vehicle in the driving lane. The truck then went into the passing lane striking another vehicle before turning into the median and coming to a stop.
