State reallocates ARPA funds following 'Return to Work' program failure

GREAT FALLS, Mont - After a failed attempt to help people get back to work, Montana is now reallocating COVID-funds to help our frontline workers. In the ARPA commission meeting it was decided that some of the money used for Montana’s Return to Work program will now be used to help recruit out-of-state nurses.

Ballots due Nov. 2 in Great Falls, Belt and Cascade elections

Ballots were mailed last week and are due back by 8 p.m. Nov. 2 for the City of Great Falls municipal election, Town of Belt, and a chicken initiative in the Town of Cascade. If you do not live in the city limits of Great Falls, or the towns of Belt or Cascade, you will not receive a ballot.

Darin Curtis Rein

Darin Curtis Rein passed away on October 11, 2021 in Great Falls, Montana. Darin was born on April 5, 1967 in Glendive, Montana to Robert C. Rein and Marguerite H. Schwenke Rein. He was raised on the family farm west of Glendive and graduated from Dawson County High School in 1986. He received his Machinist Certificate in 1987 from the Helen Vo-tec. He worked as a machinist for Claussen All-Mark, Trebro and APEX in Billings, Montana. In 1995 he attended the Montana Law Enforcement Academy and worked for the Bridger Police Department.

Lois June (Dirkes) Crabtree, 89, of Choteau passed away October 23, 2021 at the Beehive Home in Choteau after a brief fight with illness. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Gorder-Jensen Funeral Home and services are pending. A full obituary will be made available as soon as possible.

Gineal Stott, of Choteau, peacefully passed away Tuesday, October 19, 2021, hours from her 82nd birthday surrounded by her loving husband Cloyd, and family by her side. She was born October 20, 1939, in Provo, Utah, the daughter of the late Elgin and Lucy Druceal Oliphant. She is survived by her husband and ten children: Kim Heath (Brent L), Daniel Cloyd Stott (Marilee), Dorothy Campbell (Robert Chad), Carol Wearley (Robb Reginald), Sylvia Brown (Christopher Robin), Tonya Hansen (Matthew William), Julie Larsen (Spencer Greaves), Roy Elgin Stott (Cheryl), Druceal Sheldon (Michael Eugene), and Chad Benjamin Stott (Elizabeth Ann); as well as 61 grandchildren, and 47 great grandchildren whom she loved and adored. She is survived by her siblings Roland Elgin Oliphant (Yvonne Joy), Norman Henry Oliphant (Elizabeth Fern), Robert Toone Oliphant (Pandra Melissa), Larona Melville (Duane William), Lucy Bullock (LeGrand M), and Gayle Sutton (Alan Kelsey). She was preceded in death by her parents and sisters, Nada Davies (Donald Leon) and Virginia Peterson (Daniel Baillie), and brothers T Lawrence Oliphant (Edith) and Clyde Dart Oliphant (Chere).
