Burl Edwin Scott was born August 24, 1928, in Macedonia, Iowa, to Richard and Bernice (Rounds) Scott. He entered heaven’s gate on May 6, 2022, at the age of 93. He graduated from Macedonia High School with the Class of 1946 and served a tour of duty with the US Army at Ft Leavenworth, Kansas, during the Korean War training troops. On April 16, 1952, he married Lois Gustafsen and to this union five children were born.

The Iowa State Patrol says 28-year-old Betsy Shaddy of Neola was transported to Jennie Edmundson Hospital by Underwood Fire and Rescue. 28-year-old Patrick Drazkowski and 26-year-old Mitchell Drazkowski, both of Coon Rapids, Minnesota, were transported to Mercy Hospital by Council Bluffs Fire and Rescue.

(Shelby) -- Two central Iowa residents were injured in a Pottawattamie County crash Thursday afternoon. The Iowa State Patrol says troopers responded to a wreck around 2:45 p.m. on Interstate 80 near Shelby. Authorities say 57-year-old Eric Schiefelbein of Johnston was driving a 2011 Chevrolet Suburban eastbound when the vehicle left the roadway, entered the ditch, hit a pile of concrete and vaulted before coming to rest in a ravine.

(Council Bluffs, Iowa) – The Pottawattamie County Sheriff’s Office, today (Thursday), said two inmates at the Pott. County Jail were served with warrants, Wednesday, and one person turned themselves-in. Authorities say 31-year-old inmate Dyllan Roger McClelland, of Council Bluffs, was presented with a warrant charging him with a pre-trial release violation on his original charges of Criminal Mischief in the 4th Degree, and Willful Injury resulting in bodily injury. He remains held in the jail on a $503 bond.
(Pottawattamie Co.) The Pottawattamie County Sheriff’s Office reports four arrests. Timothy Jess Paulson Abboud, 50, was arrested after Deputies were dispatched to a civil situation on Pioneer Trail near Silver City. Paulson Abboud was charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance (Methamphetamine) 1st Offense and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Deputies seized one clear bag of a white crystal substance and one clear plastic container of a white crystal substance along with three pipes with residue and a clear smoking device.
(Red Oak) -- A Carson man was arrested on an active warrant in Red Oak on Monday. According to the Red Oak Police Department, authorities conducted a traffic stop at around 8 PM. Upon investigation, 50-year-old John Beebe of Carson was arrested on active Pottawattamie County warrant for 3rd degree theft, an aggravated misdemeanor.
