BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – The Brevard County Grand Jury issued murder indictments on Wednesday for three defendants in two separate incidents. Anthony Barron, 38, was indicted for First-Degree Premeditated Murder, in connection with the strangulation death of 42-year-old Nicole Yates at the couple’s home on Delaware Drive in Melbourne on May 8, 2021.

Man Accused of Beating Girlfriend in Micco

On Saturday, Brevard County deputies arrested a man in Micco after allegedly beating up his girlfriend and causing her sternum to be fractured. Deputies responded to the 3600 block of Iris Lane in Micco about a disturbance. The victim told law enforcement that her boyfriend, identified as 36-year-old Jeremy Scott Cayo, became increasingly “physically abusive” with her the night before following an argument, the affidavit said.
