No injuries reported in accident involving a semi in Newkirk

NEWKIRK — Newkirk police and fire responded at 2:10 p.m. to a report of a semi and vehicle that collided on the highway near Stagecoach BBQ. Police chief Nolan Tattershall said a couple from Ark City, Kan. stopped at the fruit stand and didn’t get their vehicle put in gear. As a result the vehicle rolled out into the roadway and was struck by a semi. “No one was hurt and the vehicles suffered minimal damage,” said Tattershall. “Everyone was able to drive away.”
