Leslie is survived by fiancé, Eric Nelson; dear friend, Adam Dahl; 4 children, Tyler Renfroe of Fargo, ND, Madison Dahl of Thief River Falls, Owen Nelson of Devils Lake, ND, and Phoenix Nelson of Devils Lake, ND. Surviving parents are Wendy Merck and Joe Merck of Thief River Falls; brother, Brandon Merck, Grand Forks, ND; two sisters, Kelly and Kris; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Wanted murder suspect arrested after days on the run

OKLEE, MINN. (Valley News Live) - A murder suspect wanted in connection to the gruesome death of his wife is now under arrest after days on the run. The Red Lake Sheriff’s Department says 44-year-old Eric Reinbold was arrested in the early morning hours of Wednesday, Aug. 4 just north of Oklee, MN.

Fire engulfs McIntosh, Minn. building on Monday

The Polk County Sheriff’s Office and McIntosh Fire Department responded to a fire at 38270 260th Ave. SE on Monday, Aug. 2, resulting in a total loss. Authorities arrived at the scene and found that the structure was already collapsed and completely engulfed. The owner, 66-year-old Larry Oppegaard, was uninjured.

The Polk County Board of Commissioners met on Tuesday morning in the Polk County Government Center. The main agenda items included Jacob Snyder from Planning and Zoning, Polk County Engineer Richard Sanders to discuss a pair of public ditch hearings, and Finance Director Ron Denison for a cash & budget report. The board also heard an American Relief Program Status and 2022 budget report from Polk County Administrator Chuck Whiting.
