UW announces spring President’s Honor Roll

LARAMIE – The University of Wyoming lists 13 students from Platte County on the 2021 spring semester President’s Honor Roll. The President's Honor Roll consists of regularly enrolled undergraduates who earned a 4.0 ("A") grade-point average for the semester. To be eligible, students must have been enrolled for a minimum of 12 credit hours taken for letter grades.

WHEATLAND – The 4-H community hall, when finished, will have 15 new tables and 120 new chairs thanks to a grant received from the Woodrow & Glyda May Endowment fund of the Wyoming Community Foundation.The fairgrounds and the community building are typically utilized 147 days a year, seeing approximately 11,700 people pass through the doors, with a waiting list for cancelations and guests coming in from other counties and states.

Patriotism alive and well on Memorial Day in Platte County

GUERNSEY – Services on Memorial Day were conducted at both the Hartville and Guernsey cemeteries and tributes were placed at the Dwyer Cemetery. Nice crowds adorned each service and in the Guernsey Service a special brigade of boys from the Wyoming Cowboy Challenge Academy were on hand to pay tribute at the service. The young patriots were instrumental in helping VFW Post 4471 set out flags on the individual veteran’s graves and stayed around during the afternoon to help recover those flags.
