Bennett Gets Special Flight

VIDALIA — Never let it be said that University of Georgia quarterback Stetson Bennett is not enjoying the fruits of being a National Championship winning football player. The Pierce County native got the thrill of a lifetime Friday, April 22 when he got an opportunity to fly with the U.S. Navy’s Blue Angels flight team at an airshow held in Vidalia as part of the city’s Vidalia Onion Festival weekend.

Spring Break is Here!

Staff Report It’s Spring Break time in the area with the Ware, Pierce and Brantley county systems all away from the classroom next week. All three systems will be off Monday, April 4 through Friday, April 8. Each will return to classes on Monday, April 11. Students in Ware County also were off Friday, April 1, as the staff at all schools had a Professional Learning Day. Pierce County students had an early release on Friday. When classes resume, the school year will be in the home stretch. The last day for students in class in Ware County is Thursday, May 19 with Pierce County and Brantley County following the next day. School begins Monday, August 1, Tuesday, August 2, in Brantley County and Monday, August 8 in Pierce County for the 2022-23 year.
