Triple Shooting In Kensington Leaves 2 Men Dead, Another Injured, Philadelphia Police Say

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) — The gun violence crisis continues in Philadelphia. A triple shooting in Kensington has left two men dead and another injured Sunday morning, according to officials. Police are now investigating the shooting. The incident occurred around 4:30 a.m. on the 3200 block of North Front Street. The majority of the investigation was surrounding the outside of El Vacilon, a club at 3215 North Front Street. Sources say this could have been a drive-by shooting. Two 22-year-old men were shot and killed, police say. One of them was shot twice in the face and chest, while the other victim was hit once in the back and twice in the chest. They were both transported to Temple University Hospital and pronounced dead. The third victim, a 21-year-old man, was shot in the face, stomach, and back, according to police. He was also taken to Temple Hospital and placed in stable condition. Police are asking people to stay away from the area as they continue their investigation. Man Dies Trapped in Bucks County House During Fire

A man died Sunday morning in Bucks County when his home went up in flames and first responders were unable to enter the building. Crews from various fire agencies responded to the 5700 block of Private Drive in Doylestown around 3 a.m. when neighbors called after being woken up by screams, the Buckingham Township Police Department said in a news release.

Reading’s Centre Park lights up for Christmas

The neighbors and friends of the Centre Park Historic District helped to light the Christmas tree in Centre Park Saturday night. Santa Claus arrived for photos and to give out candy canes and wish everyone a happy holiday. The neighborhood provided hot chocolate and popcorn to help everyone celebrate. This year in addition to the multicolored lights and ornaments on the tree, large red bows on each lamppost and colorful laser lights shining into the treetops were added to boost the festive spirit to the park.

Birdsboro American Legion post aids veterans in Reading

Birdsboro American Legion Post 626 served a waffle breakfast Saturday to veterans at the Paul R. Gordon Veteran Social Center in Reading. Members of the post have been serving breakfast at the center a few times a year since it opened in October 2017. They also presented Liz and Doug Graybill of Veterans Making A Difference with a monetary donation for the organization, which runs the center.
