Chain Reaction Crash in Red Wing Severely Injures Lake City Woman, 3 Others

Red Wing, MN (KROC-AM News)- Four people were hospitalized, one with severe injuries, following a three vehicle-crash in Red Wing Tuesday evening. The chain-reaction crash happened at the intersection of Hwy. 61 and Withers Harbor Dr. around 7:30 p.m. The State Patrol crash report says a Dodge Dart collided with a Hyundai Sonata that was traveling south on Hwy. 61. The Sonata then hit a Toyota Prius that was traveling north on 61.

Lake City, MN (KROC-AM News) - Two people were injured this afternoon in a two-vehicle crash in Lake City. The State Patrol says the injured man and woman were alone in their vehicles when the crash occurred shortly after 1 PM. 50-year-old Stephanie Schoh of Winona was traveling north on Highway 61 when her car collided with a northbound minivan driven by 72-year-old Dennis Whipple of Zumbro Falls.

Spring Valley’s ‘Big Flood of ‘42’ a successful 2022 Dam Days history exhibit

SPRING VALLEY, WI – Pierce County History Association (PCHA) volunteer extraordinaire Julie Huebel has spent the last two and a half years combing the internet and other sources gathering and then assembling vast amounts of SV flood of ’42 materials. She began her work by searching that yielded a treasure trove of articles and historical leads to follow. The culmination of the research and hard work resulted in the exceptional and successful “Dam Days History Exhibit: 80 years since Spring Valley’s ‘Big Flood’” display for the 2022 Dam Days Celebration. This Exhibit coincided with the Spring Valley Lions Club tribute “80 Years Since 1942’s Big Flood’” for the 54th Annual Dam Days Celebration September 16, 17 and 18.

Two Seriously Injured in Hwy. 52 Motorcycle Crash

Cannon Falls, MN (KROC-AM News)- Two people suffered serious injuries following a motorcycle crash on Hwy. 52 in Goodhue County Monday. The State Patrol incident report says 67-year-old Bruce Mcallister of Eyota was driving the motorcycle north when he lost control of it around 7:30 p.m. The motorcycle then stopped in the median at County Rd. 1 Blvd between Zumbrota and Cannon Falls.

Zumbrota-Mazeppa, ranked No. 3 in Class AA, got out to 6 to 7-point leads in each set on its way to a sweep of Goodhue. The Cougars won 25-15, 25-12, 25-11. The Wildcats made a dent in the Cougar lead in the first set, before the Cougars ended the set on a 6-2 run. Rylee Nelson, Natalie Dykes and Ella Chandler were tough for the Wildcats to handle.

According to a media release from the Pierce County Sheriff’s Office, on Sept. 24, 2022 around 5:21 p.m., the Pierce County Sheriff’s Office was informed of a single motorcycle crash with injury on County Road S near 430th Avenue Plum City, Wis. in Rock Elm Township.

Red Wing Man Sentenced For Teenager’s Overdose Death

Red Wing, MN (KROC-AM News) - A Red Wing man has been sentenced to just under 7 years in prison for his involvement in the death of a Lake City teenager. 22-year-old Micah Marrison received the 81-month prison term on Friday after he admitted to a second-degree manslaughter charge through a plea agreement that resulted in the dismissal of a third-degree drug charge involving the sale of narcotics. He was accused of selling counterfeit Percoset pills containing fentanyl to a 16-year-old girl who died from a drug overdose on September 6 last year.
