Freddie Rahmer, Brent Marks, Logan Wagner earn 410 sprint wins in central Pa. on Saturday

Freddie Rahmer raced to his fourth Lincoln Speedway 410 sprint win of the season on Saturday evening. Rahmer’s 18th career win at the Adams County track was worth $5,000. York’s Chase Dietz raced into the early lead in the 30-lap contest, using his pole starting position to outgun his uncle, York’s Cory Haas, at the start. Rahmer, who started third, quickly moved to second and began hounding Dietz for the lead.

Upper Providence captures Pa. Little League championship

Another state champion in baseball emerged from the area this week. Upper Providence added its name to the list at the Little League level when it capped a strong run through the Pa. State Tournament Friday by edging Greencastle, 2-1, in the second of two championship series games played at Conyngham’s Whispering Willows Park.

Top archers to compete in IBO world championship in southwestern Pennsylvania

Uniontown Legion takes another step

Uniontown top another step forward but didn’t quite get to its ultimate goal in the Pennsylvania State American Legion Baseball Tournament. Uniontown reached the state tournament for the third time in six seasons under manager Brad Yohman where it went 1-2 in 2015 and 0-2 in 2018 before going 2-2 at Boyertown in 2021. The 2020 season was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
