PBS Profiles ‘The Lost Kitchen’ Restaurant In Freedom

One of the hottest tickets in Maine is the subject of a new book. I have to admit that I came across this because I am a full fledged PBS nerd, and I regularly watch the PBS News Hour with Judy Woodruff, so I was intrigued when I saw a piece they produced on the red hot restaurant, The Lost Kitchen, in Freedom, Maine. This place is a foodies dream come true, so much so, that it has become something of a phenomenon in the last several years.

Idaho author who penned memoir about life with survivalist parents speaking Tuesday in Norfolk

For most people, listing a birth date on school documents or job applications is easy to do. That wasn’t the case for Tara Westover, whose parents were Mormon survivalists and distrusted the government, public education and modern medicine. She was the youngest of seven children, and her parents didn’t know her date of birth or get her a birth certificate until she was at least 9 years old. ...

Pink Boots Society Tap Takover at Tent City

Tent City Taphouse opened in the middle of the pandemic last year, and against great odds, quickly bubbled to the top of my list of Alaska beer venues as the most purposely local. Not only do all of the beers on the taps at the downtown Anchorage restaurant boast Alaska suds, Tent City is able to harvest beers from our state’s most far flung breweries that don’t even distribute from their remote confines.
