Two Injured, One Seriously, in SR 61 Accident

One man was seriously injured last night in a car versus motorcycle accident on State Road 61 near Lemons Road, south of Vincennes. A southbound passenger car, driven by 27 year-old Tyler Bynum of Oaktown, was struck by a motorcycle, operated by 59 year-old Stephen Reel of Bruceville. Sheriff’s deputies believe Reel’s motorcycle traveled left of center, striking the car head-on.

Grayville School Issues Statement on Inappropriately Conducted Search of Student

On Thursday, September 29, 2022, Grayville CUSD #1 was engaged in a student disciplinary investigation. During this investigation, administration believed the student could have concealed evidence on the body. This evidence, if discovered, would have confirmed a violation of both school policy and state law. As the investigation progressed, the school administrator called the student’s mother. During the ensuing conversation, the administrator explained to the mother where items can often be concealed on the body. During this conversation, the parent told the administrator she wanted them to search the student’s body. Administration was extremely grateful for the mother’s cooperation and for her support in a potential disciplinary matter concerning her child.

State Road 58 Affected Next Week by Pipe Closure

IN-DOT says State Road 58 between Freelandville, and Westphalia in Knox County is scheduled to be closed Wednesday, October 12th for a pipe replacement project. St Francisville Mayor Danny Lynn has informed WAKO News that the Toll Bridge will be closed Thursday October 6th to vehicular traffic. The structure will be undergoing maintenence from 7 a.m. CDT until 3 p.m. CDT. Those who regularly travel the bridge should use an alternate route.
