Everything is bigger in Texas when it comes to Homecoming mums. We’re not talking about chrysanthemums here but the giant plastic, ribbon festooned arrangements that girls - and some boys - wear around their necks during the season. Boys also wear armbands.
brittney poolaw comanche county jailassociated press. The world can be a wicked wicked place that we live in. It was proven today when a woman was charged with manslaughter in her own miscarriage. The woman Brittany Poolaw suffered a miscarriage while using methamphetamine. This a very harmful drug to the person using it let alone to the fetus in a person's body, but the problem the National Advocates for Pregnant Women believe that it is her body and what she did to her body did not cause the child to die.
LOCATED SOUTHWEST OF HOUSTON NOT SOUTHEAST (oops!) This past weekend we ventured over to Brazos Bend State Park located in Needville, Texas. This beautiful swamp land is only 45 minutes to an hour from HOUSTON! Being local Houstonians, we were shocked! We have never been to this park and believe it to be somewhat of a hidden gem to a lot of Houstonians as well. While there are around 5,000 acres and 19 to 35 hiking trails available to explore at this park, we were only able to explore 2-3 of the trails in a morning. However, we did get to experience what this park is famous for... THE TEXAS ALLIGATOR. We saw 6 of these beauties throughout our hikes along with a number of mammals, birds, and amphibians. We hope you enjoy this chaotic video. Please feel free to comment below what you enjoyed!
Palo Duro Canyon State Park is a MUST SEE. When we decided to go, I did not know what to expect, but it has become one of my favorite places I have visited. Palo Duro Canyon, or the "Grand Canyon of Texas" is the second largest canyon United States. It is a canyon system of Caprock Escarpment and located in the Texas Panhandle about 25 miles from downtown Amarillo and 14 miles from Canyon. It was really a sharp contrast to the flat open farm lands we saw on the drive over from those towns. There are a number of Hiking trails at Palo Duro, but we decided to go with the most "famous" - The Lighthouse Trail. This trail is about 5.7 miles long and rated as "moderate". Throughout this trail we got to see the beautiful layers and colors of the Canyon walls. This was the first stop on our roadtrip and it was an adventure, to say the least.
