TSU student Princess Jackson on mission to ‘Sock Out Poverty’

Princess Jackson, a freshman at Texas Southern University (TSU) is on a mission to stamp out poverty in Houston – one sock at a time. Jackson founded Sock Out Poverty, Inc., a 501(c)3 non-profit organization when she was nine years old and has given out over 15,000 pairs of socks to people in need.

The Goddard School opened its fourth Katy location at 23133 Morton Ranch Road in January. The new location, which utilizes play-based learning, is enrolling children ages 6 weeks to 6 years old. The Seminoles (pictured) are SBMSA JV tackle-football Tully Bowl champions. Made of up players from Bunker Hill Elementary, Western Academy, and Spring Branch Elementary, the Seminoles narrowly defeated the Texans in the final game, 14-12. It was a great season for the Seminoles, with an undefeated regular season and a No. 1 seed ranking heading into the playoffs. They earned their wins with hard work and multiple practices each week, throughout the entire season.
