2 People Dead Following Crash In Pike County

Two people were killed in a Pike County crash this past Sunday. At around 3:45pm on US 23 at Foxcroft Lane, police say that a Jeep Cherokee traveling north, crossed over into the southbound lanes and struck a Chevy Equinox. Following the initial crash, a Ford Escape ran into the Equinox. A passenger of the Cherokee, 43-year-old Rebecca Miller, of Hopkins Fork, and the driver of the Equinox, 52-year-old Melissa Bowling of Knott County, died at the hospital.

Two Killed in a Weekend Crash in Pike Co

Two people were killed over the weekend following a crash in Pikeville. According to the Pikeville Police Dept. the crash happened around 3:45 P.M. Sunday afternoon on U.S. 23 at Foxcroft Lane. Police say the crash involved a Jeep Cherokee and a Chevy Equinox. The Jeep reportedly was traveling north on US 23 and crossed into the southbound lanes striking the Equinox. Following that crash, Police say a Ford Escape collided with the Equinox. A passenger in the Cherokee, identified as Rebecca Miller, 43, of Hopkins Fork in Pikeville and the driver of the Equinox, identified as Melissa Bowling, 52, of Knott Co did not survive the crash and was pronounced deceased at the Pikeville Medical Center. Police said several other people were taken to the Hospital with injuries. The Pikeville Police Dept. is continuing to investigate the incident.

Man Arrested For Endangering Daughter With Poor Home Conditions

A man out of Pike County is now in jail after police say his house provided living conditions that were unfit and unsafe for his daughter. Police went to the house on Jay Street, belonging to 48-year-old Anthony Conrad, after the child’s grandmother reported her concerns that the 7-year-old was being neglected.

KSP Charge Floyd Co. Man with Child Sexual Exploitation Offenses

According to the Kentucky State Police, on Thursday, July 22, the Kentucky State Police (KSP) Electronic Crime Branch located and arrested B.J. Wood, 40, on charges related to a child sexual abuse material investigation. Wood, formally of Floyd Co, was interviewed and arrested as the result of an undercover Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) investigation. The KSP Electronic Crime Branch began the investigation after discovering the suspect uploading sexually explicit images online. The investigation resulted in the execution of a search warrant for Wood’s cellular phone in St. Catherine on July 22, 2021. Equipment used to facilitate the crime was seized and taken to KSP’s forensic laboratory for examination. The investigation is ongoing. Wood is currently charged with 20 counts of possessing or viewing matter portraying a minor in a sexual performance and one count of distribution of matter portraying a minor in a sexual performance. These charges are Class-D felonies punishable by one to five years in prison. Wood was lodged in the Marion Co Detention Center.
