Zac Brown Band Says Their New Song 'Same Boat' Reminds People to Be 'Good to Each Other'

On Friday, the group released their track "Same Boat," their first song this year, which Zac Brown says is inspired by positivity and "the human condition." "[It's] about how we all go through the same things all together," Brown, 42, says in a PEOPLE exclusive "Story Behind the Song" video. "It was another chance in that song to be able to remind people to be positive and be good to each other."

Zac Brown Band has returned with brand new music as the group has shared their latest single, "Same Boat." Written by Zac Brown, along with Ben Simonetti and Jonathan Singleton, and recorded at Southern Ground Nashville studio, it marks the first time the band was able to reunite safely in the studio to record together. The song follows Zac Brown Band's 2020 singles "The Man Who Loves You The Most" and "You and Islands," and if you loved the band's iconic 2005 "Chicken Fried" song, you will love this too.

Warner Music Nashville/Home Grown Music's Zac Brown Band will be celebrating the release of their newest single, "Same Boat," tomorrow (6/11) with a SiriusXM takeover on "Y2Kountry" (Ch. 61). The band will commandeer the channel starting tomorrow at 2p (CT) and host throughout the weekend. Programming will feature nightly "best of" performances, along with live and studio recordings of Zac Brown Band's entire discography and music from their favorite artists. Fans will be able to get a closer look of the band as they give commentary on their greatest memories, inspiration behind their hit songs and more.

Concerts are returning to the home of the Boston Red Sox this summer. Zac Brown just announced a huge tour with a stop at Fenway. After scrapping tour plans early in the COVID-19 pandemic last year, Zac Brown and his band are ready for a "comeback." The newly announced Comeback Tour gets the band back on the road after 14 months. Of the 23 dates on the schedule -- a night in Boston, at Fenway Park. The show is set for Aug. 8. Tickets are on-sale May 14. Ashland Craft and Teddy Swims will open the show.
