Nancy Pelosi whiffs birthday tweet with photo of Willie McCovey instead of Willie Mays

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s effort to honor Willie Mays on his birthday turned into a swing and a miss when the California Democrat tweeted a photo of the wrong ballplayer. Instead of Mr. Mays, who turned 90 on Thursday, Ms. Pelosi posted a photo of herself posing in 2018 with Willie McCovey, then switched it out with a photo of Mr. Mays after being called out on social media, blaming a staffer for the error.

2021 Willie McCovey Memorial Community Prospect List No. 15

The 14th edition of the 2021 Willie McCovey Memorial Community Prospect List was a very close one, and we avoided a runoff by only four votes, which may or may not have come from the four alternate accounts I created to help us avoid a runoff. But as it is, 20-year old outfielder Jairo Pomares has been voted as the No. 14 prospect in the San Francisco Giants farm.
