Should you have mixed emotions about Ville Husso?

Here’s a head-scratcher: “Should you have mixed emotions about the St. Louis Blues backup goaltender Ville Husso?”. I don’t know about you, but I have mixed emotions about Husso. I had a feeling that he wasn’t going to excel in the playoffs. Husso doesn’t have much...

Ville Husso, Blues turn back Kraken

Ville Husso stopped 28 of 29 shots as the St. Louis Blues defeated the visiting Seattle Kraken 4-1 Wednesday night to run their point streak to six games. The Blues (40-20-10, 90 points) are 5-0-1 in that span. They completed their three-game season sweep of the Kraken (22-42-6, 50 points) and improved to 15-3-3 against the Pacific Division.

How good is Ville Husso?

St. Louis Blues backup goaltender Ville Husso will be an unrestricted free agent this summer. I don’t dislike Husso at all. If he continues to play the way he has been playing, he may be the hottest UFA in the NHL’s free agent market. To be honest, I think he’ll end up signing with the Buffalo Sabres. The Sabres are a team that needs to acquire a high-quality goalie as they tend to have problems with their goalie depth. But that’s just my opinion, and I could be wrong.

Ville Husso will start in goal for the St. Louis Blues on Saturday

The St. Louis Blues will have Ville Husso between the pipes Saturday, Jim Thomas of The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports. While the Blues have yet to formally announce anything, Husso has pretty much taken over the starting role from Jordan Binnington. Husso has started nine of the last 10 games for the Blues and has only given up 14 goals in those contests. Husso draws a formidable opponent Saturday, however, in the high-scoring Toronto Maple Leafs. That job got tougher when it was announced today that Vladimir Tarasenko would miss this contest due to an undisclosed injury.

Here are the highlights from our weekly chat with Post-Dispatch readers. Q: Ville Husso or Jordan Binnington? Who is your No. 1 goalie?. A: Husso, of course, until proven otherwise. Q: What do you make of Colton Parayko's season?. A: It has been a disappointment. I don't think there's any...

Controversy or not, Ville Husso changing the equation in St. Louis

Goalie controversy is so cliché. Let’s call it a goalie conundrum. Because really, until the games take on a life or death hue like the day before the first game of the playoffs, then there really is no controversy. And when one goaltender, in this case relatively unknown Ville Husso, is playing lights out and the team, in this case the St. Louis Blues, continues to collect points and solidly hold down a playoff spot, well, controversy seems unnecessarily dramatic.

Blues goaltender Ville Husso named NHL's Second Star of the Week

ST. LOUIS — He may have started the season simply as the Blues' backup goaltender, but there's no doubt Ville Husso is making a name for himself in 2022. Husso went 3-0-0 during that time frame, stopping 97 of the 101 shots he faced. That's a 1.34 goals-against average and a .960 save percentage. Husso also posted one shutout on the week.
