FC Cincinnati interim manager Tyrone Marshall has credited the "grit, heart and passion" of his side's second-half performance against the Philadelphia Union. SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Former Real Salt Lake assistant Tyrone Marshall has been announced as the interim manager of FC Cincinnati following the firing of Jaap Stam. Marshall, 46, was with Real Salt Lake as an assistant coach from 2015-20 following a playing career that spanned 349 games. During his time with Real Salt Lake Marshall worked under Jeff Cassar, Mike Petke, and Freddy Juarez.

Tyrone Marshall peacefully transitioned home to eternal life on March 27, 2020, in Detroit, Michigan. He was born to the union of the late Edna and Quincy Marshall on August 30, 1963, at Singing River Hospital in Pascagoula, MS. In 1981, he graduated from Moss Point High School, in Moss Point, MS. He later continued his education, receiving an Associate’s Degree in Computer Science from CHI Institute of Southampton, PA in 1991. He worked and retired as a Machine Operator at Georgia Pacific in Doraville, Georgia. During his later years, he enjoyed family travels in and out of America especially to Guadalajara, Mexico and Windsor, Canada. Tyrone’s ultimate love of life was his fidelity in God, Jesus Christ, family and friends.

What has already been a whirlwind off-season for Real Salt Lake continues apace, with yet another coaching change making its way to the public eye today: Tyrone Marshall, one of Freddy Juarez’s assistant coaches, has apparently left the club. He appears on FC Cincinnati’s academy staff page as the head coach for their under-19 side.
