When you think about the guys the Dodgers currently have in their system, it’s surprising that Trea Turner hasn’t received an extension. As of right now, Jacob Amaya is the only shortstop in their top 20 prospects, and he’s not very close to being big-league ready. So...
The Los Angeles Dodgers had multiple players start both games of Tuesday’s doubleheader against the Arizona Diamondbacks, including Trea Turner, who had a key part in their 12-3 win during the nightcap. The Dodgers quickly erased a 2-0 deficit in the first inning when Freddie Freeman doubled and Turner...
Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said Tuesday that Turner has been bothered by a sore calf over the past few days, but the shortstop remains "playable," Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic reports. Turner certainly didn't appear bothered by the calf issue Tuesday, as he started both games of the team's doubleheader...
The Los Angeles Dodgers are somehow masters of avoiding controversy and unnecessary roster drama. The Trevor Bauer and Yasiel Puig situations should’ve been a much bigger stain on the franchise, but instead life goes on as the team owns the best record in MLB. In fact, they even lucked...
Despite featuring 22 runs scored and 27 hits, Friday night’s game between the Los Angeles Dodgers and the Philadelphia Phillies will most likely be remembered for a bad strike call by home plate umpire Paul Emmel. In the 10th inning of Friday’s game, Dodgers shortstop Trea Turner was the...
The Los Angeles Dodgers have hit a bit of a rough patch lately, as they have fallen in three straight games after a red-hot start. Trea Turner was trying his best to get the Dodgers back on the right track, but even he was unable to overcome some egregious umpiring last night.
Turner went 3-for-4 with two runs in Thursday's loss to the Phillies. The speedy shortstop was one of two Dodgers (along with Will Smith) to collect three hits in the contest. Turner scored in the sixth and eighth innings and got to third base in the ninth but was stranded there. He has seven multi-hit games so far this season, including two three-hit performances. Turner is slashing .276/.338/.379 with a home run, 21 RBI, 15 runs and five stolen bases in his first full season with Los Angeles.
Last week, the Los Angeles Dodgers and San Francisco Giants did battle for the first time in 2022, with LA sweeping the two-game set. One of those contests featured a win over San Fran’s “ace” in Carlos Rodón, who was their marquee signing this offseason. Not...
Turner went 2-for-4 with a walk, a double, two runs scored, an RBI and a stolen base in Tuesday's 11-1 win over the Pirates. The shortstop did a little bit of everything as he looked to climb out of a recent mini-slump that had seen Turner bat .152 (5-for-33) over his prior nine games. On the season, the 28-year-old is slashing a disappointing .259/.317/.361 with one homer, five steals, 13 runs and 21 RBI.
Early season baseball analysis is such a crapshoot at its core. One week a guy can look like he’s rediscovering his MVP form, the next he can’t even buy a single. It’s just hard to discern what’s meaningful and what’s noise at this stage in the season.

It’s a little bit of a surprise at this point how little we’ve heard about a Trea Turner extension with the Dodgers. Given their lack of superstar talent at the position, it would make sense that they would want to keep him around. But Turner talked about the fact that the team wasn’t going to have those talks with him before the season, almost ensuring he would hit the market after this year.
