Atlanta Braves Minor League Recap: Michael Harris, Travis Demeritte big days fuel wins

A glorious day is upon us and that is the FIRST minor league recap since the end of the 2019 season. I remember when the rumors were coming out last year about the season potentially being moved back further and further until they rightfully decided to cancel the season entirely. It was an absolutely devastating time for tons of players many missing a year of prime development, and many playing the last baseball games of their career.

Braves' Travis Demeritte: Outrighted off roster

Demeritte was outrighted to Triple-A Gwinnett on Sunday. Demeritte was claimed off waivers from the Tigers in mid-February but didn't last long on his new team's 40-man roster. He'll remain an organizational depth option in Atlanta but is now one step further from returning to the big leagues.

Braves: Travis Demeritte has been a busy man lately

In a move Friday that perhaps says more about right-hander Jeremy Walker and the severity of his shoulder ailment, the Braves claimed former Atlanta top 25 prospect, infielder/outfielder Travis Demeritte, off waivers from the Tigers. Walker, who we here at SportsTalkATL had as the organization’s 16th ranked prospect in our 2021 Top 30, was released on Friday. The addition of Demeritte is a minor one, primarily aimed at giving Atlanta some potential bench depth. However, there was a time when the former 30th overall pick was expected to one day become a main contributor for the Braves.
