Russia warns it will cut off oil supply after countries vote for $60-per-barrel price cap

Russian authorities rejected a price cap on the country's oil set by Ukraine's Western supporters and threatened Saturday to stop supplying the nations that endorsed it. Australia, Britain, Canada, Japan, the United States and the 27-nation European Union agreed Friday to cap what they would pay for Russian oil at $60-per-barrel. The limit is set to take effect Monday, along with an EU embargo on Russian oil shipped by sea.

County releases preliminary 2023 operating budget, no tax increase

Bucks County recently released its preliminary 2023 operating budget of $457.5 million, a 3.8 percent decrease from 2022. With additional anticipated revenue sources, including funds from the American Rescue Plan Act, the board of commissioners is able to balance the coming year’s budget without raising taxes or dipping into the general fund. The county will also enter the new year with its AAA bond rating recently reaffirmed by Moody’s Investors Service and S&P Global Ratings.
